APPROACHING THE NEW YEAR

Approaching the New Year.

In Nigeria, the New Year doesn’t necessarily mean the start of a new calendar as we all know😖. Probably you are 7-8 weeks into the semester before the Christmas break which is usually just two weeks. That’s already half way to the semester and by now, you will definitely be hearing the screams of test around you😟.

 

 Yet admission is still going on here and there, basically it is best if you could just set your mind in non-festive mode till you are done with your degree. That’s 4 years of no Christmas , visiting family and friends for new year celebration😞 which is a whole lot of sacrifice if you ask me but you sure have to center your mind on your books and it’s worth the A results😤.

Sure, the temptation is always there to spend the first week celebrating and the next reading but ‘oh, how time flies’. And for those who would actually spend all that week reading would still complain that it wasn’t enough😥.

But in everything it’s better to be safe than sorry!😇

SECURITY CONSCIOUSNESS

Security at your Lodge

Being security conscious is the height of self-awareness. The world is full of danger from various individual. As it said: ‘Every day for the thief, one day for the owner’💃. Now till that day that is for you, you cannot always fall victim to these unfortunate incidences😱.

As a result of impatience or the rush to be wealthy💱, a lot of people most especially guys have resulted to unconventional means of making money👦😷. Therefore, we owe it to ourselves to be more conscious of our environment, activities we carry out, what time we go out, what details we give out at public places. It is a good thing to own something valuable but you have to be careful with your items especially in a school environment.

It was recently heard that a male broke into a female hostel clothes spread area and selected underwear from all the clothes out there. We have to be careful with our personal belonging when you are living in a public environment or sharing room with non-family members. One cannot always be careful though, but we must all try our possible best not to fall victims. You have a cause to stay out late, let your roommates be aware👯. Females should come back home escorted by a male friend. Don’t go to withdraw cash at the ATM in the night🎰. Keep your doors locked at night and keep your gadgets in your wardrobe locked with the key underneath your pillow/headrest.

      Though all these do not necessarily reduce evil operations but it sure reduces your falling victim to their evil acts. Stay Aware🙌.
